Annual Fire Safety Statements

Under NSW law building owners are required to provide an Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS) to their local Council. The AFSS details a comprehensive list of site-specific fire safety measures and confirms the fire protection system is up to Australian Standards.

Building owners will receive notice from the Council when their Annual Fire Safety Statement is due to be submitted.

To provide the required information, a competent fire practitioner, accredited in accordance with the Fire Protection Accreditation Scheme (FPAS) must then test and certify each required element.
